Premier League

The Premier League is the top professional football (soccer) league in England. Established in 1992, it features 20 clubs that compete against each other in a format based on promotion and relegation with the English Football League (EFL). The league operates on a system of points, where teams earn three points for a win, one point for a draw, and no points for a loss. The team with the most points at the end of the season is crowned the champion. The Premier League is known for its high level of competition, significant global television rights deals, and a diverse array of international players. It is regarded as one of the most popular and financially lucrative football leagues in the world.
